The origins go back to 2022 when someone discovered this to be an effective way to circumvent protections built into the various “AI”-powered chat bots, or, in more technical terms, a prompt injection attack.
This is an exploit that’s going to get funnier before it goes away.
Bots based on GPT-3 natural language are vulnerable to an injection attack that uses variations on the phrase “Ignore previous instructions and…”
This made me chuckle 😂😂
